I love working with men.....Usually confident and self aware, in front of the camera they change and I can see pure man ...vulnerable  just like us women...

This man I used to work with he was studying to be a brain surgeon and possibly the most calmest person I have ever met in my life.

This is the person I love more in my life than anything

she used to take photographs weekly while she was at school in the 70's and develop the films at the weekends in her bathroom. In our home in Russia we still have the negatives and black and white prints she made. I must point out she is one of my favorite people to photograph because she is easy to work with, she is also a creative person and get easily inspired by peoples ideas. In the 80's and 90's situation was difficult in USSR and being a single mother of two made it even worse but never the less my mother made it sure I was the most fashionable kid on the block. She design and made the cutest dressers ever for me. Now she is studying fashion at her local college and mostly gets distinctions. Her favourite TV Show is LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN .

Last year I did a project based on the idea of what happening  behind closed doors.

I played with an idea of domestic violence. It makes me feel a little uneasy by stating I played with an idea of such sensitive matter. However I wanted to get away from the stereotype of abusive relationship between a man (often dominate) and a woman (often presented as a victim). It is not a secret that the issue of domestic violence/abuse can affect anyone but most likely will take place behind close doors...
